Savier Footwear, a Portland, Oregon-based company, was known for its innovative approach to skate shoe design and technology from 2000-2004. The company was founded by Paul Fidrych and was recognized for experimenting with shoe material technology and designs that were uncommon in the skate shoe industry. This included partnering with Nike and using their Zoom Air technology, as well as utilizing a highly durable patented polymer.

Despite its short lifespan, Savier Footwear left a significant mark on the skateboarding industry, sponsoring notable skateboarders including Brian Anderson, Paul Rodriguez, Brad Staba, Stefan Janoski, and others. Although the company closed in 2004, its influence continues to be felt in the skateboarding community.

While Savier may not be a household name today, it was a significant part of the history of skateboarding. The brand prided itself on its technological advances and was a favorite among skaters, tested and made by skaters. However, the introduction of prominent pieces of technology caused the price of the products to balloon, making Savier shoes not at a price point in tune with the rest of the market.

The surging popularity of Nike SB coincided with the downfall of Savier, but the legacy of Savier lives on.
